Welcome to the Xulgent product test site.

The first step after creating your site with the wizard is to define content.  After creation of a page, you will already be in edit mode.  You can enter edit mode using the menu at the top left of your page.  It is shown in the image to the right highlighted by a red box and marked as (1).  Then the flyout menu will appear as shown in the screenshot.

The 'Edit this Page' button from this menu will put this page in edit mode.

In edit mode you can add new content, delete content, and move content around the page.  Some types of content will also have special actions available.

When a page is in edit mode the top of your page will show basic options for creating new content.

  1. Content Type: This drop down list selection determines what kind of content should be added to the page.  The most common type of content is "Content : Html Document".  An Html document is essentially a portion of html markup output to the page.  However, you create the html with a WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get) editor similar to a word processor.
  2. Location: This drop down list selection determines where on the page the new content should be placed.  The options available will be determined by the type of layout you selected when the page was created.
  3. Content Name: This field is optional.  If none is specified, then a default unique value is assigned.  For most content types the default value is fine.  If specified, it must be unique within the page.  Some types of content such as an Html document will use the entered name as the name for the new document.
  4. Position: This is the relative position of the new content within the choosen location.

After entering your content parameters, select the 'Create' button to add it to the page.  The next screen will vary based primarily on the type of content choosen.  For an Html Document the following will appear.  Now for the hard part... figuring out what you want to say.  To markup your text with various formatting use the toolbar above the textbox.  Each of the commands will be familiar if you have ever used a word processor.

If you would like an image, you can upload one from your local hard-drive and link it to the page in a few simple clicks.  First click on the 'Image Gallery' button two icons to the right of the Symbols dropdown list.  This will open a new window showing a thumbnails for all the available directories, and for each image file in those folders.  Double click on a folder to open it, or double click on a file to insert it into your document.  you can also single click an image and then set advanced options in the form to the right of the thumbnails.

The other parameters below the textbox are optional.  Select 'Save' when you are satisfied with your document.  It may also be wise to Save periodically if you are creating a large document.  A document can be revised as many times as necassary.  note in the screenshot below the location of the content modification menu.  there is a separate content menu for each piece of content on the page.  All content allows you to delete the content, and configure the content.  If there is any other content on the page you will also be able to move the content relative to the other content.

Some types of content also have special actions in their content menu.  The Html Document contains an 'Edit' command.  This command shows only the html editor, and none of the other configuration options.  Functionally the html editor works the same in both cases.  The full configuration form also allows you to swap out the currently assigned document to be another document you have created earlier.  The same Html Document may be re-used on multiple pages.
